Live prompting CAI tools – a market snapshot

In the aftermath of our inspiring AIIC AI Day in Rome, I felt that an overview of all live-prompting CAI (Computer-Assisted Interpreting) tools might be very much appreciated by many colleagues. So here we go – these are the tools providing live prompting of terms, numbers, names or complete transcripts in the booth during simultaneous interpretation.

The appearance is in alphabetical order. Although all information included in this post has of course been checked thoroughly, I cannot guarantee that the information is correct and up to date. If there is anything wrong or missing, please let me know!

Main functionalities

shows terms plus digits and time, can be fed with documents and/or glossaries in advance; runs in combination with InterpretBank terminology database with many sophisticated features; also available as Digital Notepad for consec; currently speech recognition implemented for English only

Technicalities

Based on Google STT API, local InterpretBank installation under Windows or MacOS sends link to ABM session in Chrome, runs in parallel to Zoom/Teams etc. (it is best to use a second computer and send the audio in via cable)
